Out of my mind by Sharon Draper
I picked the book "out of my mind" because I had read it before in 4th grade, and I loved it! I reread the back side in the library and the plot sounded super interesting. The protagonist is Melody, who has a disability but shows everyone how smart she actually is. The antagonist is one of her teachers, who never believed in Melody. The main conflict of the story is when Melody's family gets to the airport about to go to D.C only to know the team had left her. They could not get on the plane either because of bad weather so Melody did not get to compete. The theme of the book is underestimate. It seems that since Melody has cerebral palsy EVERYONE underestimates her. The best part of the book was when Melody got a computer that allowed her to say words. The first thing she said to her parents was "I love you." I rate this book a 9 it was sooooo good!
