I picked The 14th goldfish because when I read the back of the book, the teaser caught my eye. It was talking about a girls 14th goldfish that never died. Goldfish usually die after a week or so. That got me wondering can the fish do other things like talk or walk. So I ended up checking it out of the library.
The protagonist is Ellie, her grandpa, and Raj. There isn't exactly an antagonist but there is a problem.
Ellie is home one night when her mom suddenly has to go somewhere. When her mom comes back she has a teenage boy with her. That teenage boy ends being her GRANDPA! He aged backwards using the T. Melvinus "antidote.¨ So the problem is he wants to get his ¨antidote¨ back so he can make more. But he can´t get in because he doesn't look like his old-self.
